My 1923 Ford 2 door 5 window Coupe
My latest acquisition was a stroke of luck
I am still setting here kind of stunned!!!!! This whole thing was like a dream and a dream come true. I had always wanted to have a antique car or Hot Rod. I have seen a lot of cars over the years some good some bad. I have really wanted to build a 32 Ford 5 window Coupe just like the American Graffiti Roadster.
Now as most of you know I can't walk much anymore and have trouble with my hands too. I ride an electric wheelchair for my mobility and I can still drive an automobile when that damn road quits weaving! ha ha I have had to watch a lot of my abilities deteriorate due to my bone disease. One thing that really hurts is my inability to continue to ride motorcycles. A lot of thought has gone into what I should do with my 1986 Harley Soft tail Custom. I half heartedly had it for sale but it wasn't moving. Of course I wasn't pushing the sale either. I was hoping that if I were patient I would find my dream car for my roadster project.
Ok this seemed like Karma to me. I was Cruz in the old local Craigslist site like I do every day. When looking at cars for sale an Ad jumped out at me. It was for a 23 T Coupe. I saw a picture and thought "This is the perfect car for me". I noted the price and the OBO in the ad. I thought to myself, Could this guy possibly want a Harley. I fought with myself about looking in to the Ad as I noticed he said he wanted to be called!!! Well as I am a shy person I thought what the hell I am going to send him a Email to see if he was even interested in a trade let alone for my Hawg. Well I shot him an Email and he replied lets look at the bike. Well the rest is what we call history. We made a direct swap, My Harley for his 23 T. I put a new battery in the hog and threw in all my FX stuff. He brought the T down to my shop where it has displaced my mini van in the garage.
All in all I am completely satisfied I got a fair deal. I think he got a wonderful bike. I wish him many miles of trouble free riding. Live Long ride free Rich, and you too Mr. Soft tail
My T arrived on Friday 12/07/2004 Hell of a way to celebrate a new year
Still tied down
A dark picture however this is the last time I saw my Harley. Kind of ironic both the Harley and the T side by side.
Here it is taking up my minivan parking spot
Front 1/4 view
Check out all these fancy controls
A slightly better view showing all three pedals and handbrake / clutch.
